Club meet-up at Lough Key Forest Park

Boyle Camera Club members to meet-up at Lough Key Forest Park.
On Saturday 25th of October and Sunday 26th of October at 12pm on both days,
BCC members are asked to meet-up on either day or both if you feel fit to do so at the main building.
Members will need to bring their camera equipment, eg. camera and tripod - and the price of a coffee/tea to shop at the cafe,
The November monthly motivation theme is "Autumn" so there we will split up or in a group walking
around the park snapping every opportunity we get from the autumn season celebrated and spectated.
We do ask the public to be weary if you see a camera pointed in your direction as it may not be the
photographers intension to photograph other people only to capture the autumn season.
P.O.T.Y points will be awarded to anyone in attendance and this will add to your score come the end of the year.
This maybe the Club's last outing of the year so a message to members is for you not to miss out, and
come along for the chat and banter.
For the anyone that knows Lough Key Forest Park this should be an enjoyable bank holiday weekend.

For any members using the WhatsApp Boyle Camera Club group chat do send a message if you have any concerns.

Update on 08/07/25 Meeting

Last evening we had the pleasure to getting to know a little bit more about well known astrophotographer Brian Wilson, from Belmullet, Co. Mayo.
Brian specialises in getting out with his camera in the dark night sky and photographing our dark skies, the things we dream of when we see his type of work all over the internet.
He also had a display of images that were awarded in recent times, that were and looked very professional on his behalf. Brian also mentioned he is fond of roaming and stated to be very lucky to be from the west of Ireland and is the reason how he found the passion for astrophotography due to the lowlight pollution that can be be found on that side of the country. He was also very helpful to any questions that were asked and we want to thank him and wish him all the best in journey to achieving his FIPF in the future.

Update on 08/04/25 Meeting

After our break: Members were treated to a display of 109 images from the recent visit to Strokestown house
and gardens, for many choose to venture to the historic landmark on Saturday/Sunday 29th/30th march
For Mothers day fell on the 30th March this year really excuses why some choose the day beforehand
Prior to the visit we as members or some members had each agreed to submit a few of their shots for
the purpose of Strokestown House advertising, we are waiting on a response to see if this arrangement is still necessary.
I’m sure everyone’s excited to hear whether their images will be used.

Next months meeting we are planning on having a speaker on the night so be sure to mark the date
on Tuesday 13th MAY 8pm.....more details to follow in the coming weeks!
