Photo Shoot - Strandhill, 29th April

DSC_5707 photo group no2 resize.jpg
Thirteen club members attended this month's photo shoot on Sunday 29th April. We took advantage of a beautiful sunny but bracing morning at Knocknarea and later in Strandhill, Sligo. Landscapes, seascapes, and people shots was the 'bill-o-fare'. The usual suspects focused on long exposures. See a selection of shots from the photoshoot on the club Flickr site later. Due to the unseasonal cold wind we made our way home early with a stop in Strandhill for a chat and a welcome cup of tea.

Notice; All members entering photos for this month's motivation ‘RGB or Red Green and Blue’ should note that the submission date has been changed due to next weeks Bank Holiday. Submissions should be emailed to info@boylecameraclub.com by midnight on Thursday May 3rd.

Images of Rural Leitrim - Photo Competition

The Leitrim Development Company is a Local Action Group (LAG) implementing the Rural Development Programme (LEADER) in Co. Leitrim. They have been asked to participate in an EU wide photo competition.

The ‘Images of Rural Europe’ initiative aims to promote and celebrate rural development in Europe. The competition will involve the collection of diverse range photos which reflect rural life in Europe today – the winning entries of which will be displayed at a major exhibition at the prestigious Berlaymont building, in Brussels from 22 June to 10 July, 2012. In addition, winning photographers and Local Action Groups (LAGs) will be invited to attend a high profile awards ceremony, in the presence of the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Dacian Cioloş, on 27 June, 2012.

Taking part couldn’t be simpler! The Images of Rural Europe photo competition is open to all professional and amateur photographers who are resident in any of the EU Member States. Each entrant may submit as many photos as s/he wishes but only Local Action Groups (LAGs) Leitrim Development Co. in the case of Leitrim will be allowed to upload pictures via the dedicated website www.ruralimages.eu. Leitrim Development Co. would strongly encourage you to consider submitting photos from Co. Leitrim (focusing on the people, communities, events or places etc see attached) to them and they will organise at local level to select a number of pictures from Leitrim to be submitted to the Images of Rural Europe exhibition.

Leitrim Development Co. would hope to consider any and all photographs submitted to them on or before Friday 4th May 2012. We will then submit the selected photos by the deadline for the 18th to the ENRD in Brussels.
