Boyle Camera Club will hold it's next club meeting on Tuesday 10th September at 8pm in St. Joseph's Resource Centre, Boyle. At a recent committee meeting, there was a proposal to review the current monthly Motivation and Des will be discussing a new approach to this very important club activity at the September meeting.

Full Agenda for September's meeting will be posted here shortly.

Elphin Agricultural Show - Saturday 31st August

The Boyle Summer Show was a great success this year and there were plenty of excellent photo opportunities for camera holders on the day. In the tent however, it was obvious that the photography section was very poorly represented. Perhaps the club needs to be more active promoting participation in this aspect of our local show next year! Well done to the participants though, in particular to 9-year old Gráinne Rooney, who won the Roscommon Herald perpetual trophy.

Members might be interested in taking part in the Elphin Agricultural Show which takes place this Saturday, 31st August. There is a photography section which has various categories;

The Recent Photography of Hugh Rooney

Club member Hugh Rooney has produced some very noteworthy photography on his travels around Ireland and abroad over the years. His recent images of the Architecture of Valencia in Spain are a particularly beautiful set that are getting a lot of attention on-line. We could all learn a few things from the way Hugh composes a photography. Have a look at Hugh's work HERE.

Thank You for Coming.

Boyle Camera Club Exhibition during Boyle Arts Festival July-August 2013 TMP_2759
Photo: Tony Murphy

Boyle Camera Club would like to thank everyone that came to visit our recent exhibition at Boyle Library during the Boyle Arts Festival. This year's very successful exhibition saw over 30 prints being sold, the proceeds of sales will be donated to The Childrens' Hospital in Crumlin. Members of the public were particularly impressed by the photos of Derek Fetheston 'Watching Over You' and Joe Kennedy's 'The Stables".
The club also held a raffle during the exhibition in the hope of raising funds to purchase a new data projector. This was also well subscribed to and the winner, Fionnuala Meagher, has received the framed print of her choice from the exhibition.
As always, the photo slideshow proved very popular for visitors and Joe has promised to make this available to view on this site shortly.

Club members should note that photos from the exhibition will be available to collect at the next club meeting.
Next club meeting will take place on Tuesday 10th September at 8pm in St.Joseph's Resource Centre, Boyle. New members are always welcome.
